What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Bud hunts vampires while working as a pool cleaner across the bright San Fernando Valley, contrasting ordinary suburban spaces with violent supernatural encounters.
Bud is paired with the anxious union representative Seth, creating comic friction within a vampire-hunting action narrative.
Bud hides his vampire-hunting livelihood behind pool cleaning because he is focused on providing for his ten-year-old daughter Paige.
The film emphasizes elaborate vampire fights, practical stunt choreography, and kinetic camerawork over sustained dramatic realism.
