What critics said
Critics and viewers recognize Dobermann as an energetic, bizarre, visually forceful crime caper whose outrageous violence and eccentric style outweigh its uneven writing.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Dobermann's eccentric gang, grotesque police pursuit, dark comedy, and boundary-pushing violence create a deliberately excessive criminal world.
Reviews characterize the heist caper as bizarre and surreal, with rapid shifts between dark humor, transvestism, and extreme violence.
Dobermann is introduced as a charismatic gang leader whose lifelong association with guns and robbery makes his persona larger than ordinary criminal realism.
Cristini leads the hunt with a stated goal of catching Dobermann at any cost and is explicitly described as ruthless and sadistic.
