Critics generally praised Prashanth Neel's direction, performances, world building, background score, and large-scale action while finding the opening portion slow and the later narrative overcomplicated.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The contested kingdom of Khansaar is built through rival rulers, succession struggles, factional loyalties, and ceremonial power.
Deva and Vardharaja are defined by a bond that is transformed into a conflict between friends-turned-foes.
Characters repeatedly speak of Deva in exalted terms, delaying and amplifying the reveal of what makes him a feared warlord.
The film's praised action sequences, technical dazzle, and recurring slow-motion presentation create a heightened visual grammar.
