What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Robbie Williams is represented as a computer-generated monkey, turning celebrity psychology into a distinctive visual metaphor.
The film combines Williams’ career chronology with elaborate musical numbers and an intentionally unconventional primate protagonist.
The rise from boyhood performer to pop superstar is paired with drug addiction, depression, family abandonment, and a dramatic fall.
Williams’ public pop-star identity contrasts with the troubled, insecure figure depicted behind the spectacle.
