What critics said
Critics found the spin-off watchable and occasionally fresh in its perspective, but broadly considered it less emotionally effective than the original and weakened by a questionable scientific turn.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Sebastián, Anna, and the other survivors travel blindfolded through Barcelona because seeing the entity triggers suicidal behavior.
The story follows Sebastián while emphasizing the perspective of a person connected to the seers rather than presenting only conventional survivor heroism.
The survivors navigate the emptied streets and urban ruins of Barcelona while searching for a safe haven.
The mysterious force is experienced primarily through its lethal consequences and the characters' efforts not to look at it.
