What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Eve's calculated effort to replace Margo turns Broadway success into the film's central arena of social and professional competition.
Eve presents herself as a devoted, vulnerable admirer while cultivating access to Margo's circle and opportunities.
Rehearsals, dressing rooms, opening nights, and theatrical gatherings structure the characters' conflicts.
The framing award ceremony and Addison DeWitt's scrutiny create distance between Eve's public image and her underlying plan.
