What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film foregrounds Korean shamanic gut rituals, geomancy, exhumation customs, and spiritual appeasement.
The curse and its unearthing are linked to Korea's past and criticism of Japanese occupation.
Exhumation, feng shui consultation, shamanic rites, and funerary practices receive unusually concrete, immersive treatment.
