What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Payne uses live grenades, real bullets, relentless commands, and combat language as deliberately exaggerated teaching tools.
Payne begins as a career soldier unable to function as a civilian but gradually finds meaning while mentoring the cadets.
The discharged Marine must replace battlefield command with leadership of a struggling school JROTC program.
Training exercises, weapons, uniforms, and drill competitions are presented through broad physical comedy and heightened action.
