What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film traces Woodstock 99 from its promised peace-and-unity image through riots, looting, and sexual assaults.
The critical consensus frames the festival as a flashpoint in a wider cultural low point and a warning of troubles to come.
The festival is presented as an unraveling horror film, with mounting disorder replacing the promised countercultural idealism.
Woodstock 99 was promoted as an echo of the 1969 concert while its corporate festival conditions undermined that ideal.
