What critics said
Critics broadly viewed the film as a contrived, brand-driven teen comedy weakened by unfocused storytelling, ethnic stereotyping, and sexual innuendo.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Jane pursues an overseas college opportunity while Roxy chases punk-rock ambitions, creating the film's twin-track comic engine.
The sisters' single chaotic day moves through New York City as mishaps repeatedly obstruct their personal goals.
The dual roles for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and the production by Dualstar Productions make the star pairing central to the film's identity.
The usually adversarial twins unite when the day's forces threaten both of their objectives.
