What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Cécile responds to her father's death by pursuing numerous sexual relationships in an effort to bury her grief and find inner peace.
The plot explicitly presents Cécile as a figure who symbolizes desire for the people whose lives she disrupts.
Cécile's encounters connect Chance, Matt, Alice, and other acquaintances across overlapping sexual and emotional relationships.
The film's erotic identity is reflected in its explicit sexual premise, nudity, and repeated focus on carnal desire.
