What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The Walled City is presented through cramped alleys, corridors, tunnels, stacked dwellings, and tightly packed criminal territories.
The plot centers on a self-governing enclave whose gang bosses and outside authorities maintain a tense truce disrupted by Chan Lok-kwun's arrival.
The film adapts a graphic novel and combines absurd heightened elements with elaborate kung fu confrontations among criminal factions.
Troubled youth Chan Lok-kwun enters the Walled City, encounters its residents, and learns life lessons through the community's order amid chaos.
