What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Snowball and Napoleon explicitly embody Trotsky and Stalin, while the farm's revolution parallels Stalinist Russia.
The animals' utopian rebellion becomes a corrupt totalitarian regime under Napoleon.
Squealer supports Napoleon's power by manipulating the animals and normalizing the claim that some are more equal than others.
The familiar farm setting becomes progressively dominated by political control and brutality.
