What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Happy is sent from a Punjabi village to counsel an Australian underworld don, but a travel mix-up and mistaken identity propel his comic transformation.
The story moves from village comedy to Egypt, romance, gang conflicts, mansion farce, and lavish wedding plotting with an exuberant commercial-film sensibility.
Happy becomes treated as the don after Lakhanpal's goons misunderstand events and install him in an affluent criminal lifestyle.
The film centers a Sikh Punjabi village hero and was noted for its Punjabi-inflected dialogue and celebration of Punjabi spirit.
