What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Lena is treated as the niece of a devil-worshiper in superstitious Gatlin, while her family practices spellcasting and faces a light-versus-darkness destiny.
Lena's sixteenth birthday will determine her alignment, and remaining in love with Ethan may imperil her ability to stay in the light.
Gatlin classmates reject Lena because of her family connection to Macon Ravenwood rather than her own conduct.
Ethan repeatedly dreams of a mysterious girl before recognizing Lena as the newcomer from those dreams.
