What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Charles and Annie leave their small-town life and travel together as a federal marshal and people from Charles's past chase them.
Charles's witness-protection circumstances and identity as Yul Perrkins make his relationship and road trip vulnerable to exposure.
Annie holds a doctorate in nonviolent conflict resolution while the pursuit repeatedly turns toward guns, threats, and reckless action.
The pursuit features misfit antagonists, awkward violence, and comic set pieces such as a marshal attempting to shoot his own van.
