What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The wives' fixation on a cable television serial turns ordinary marriages and household roles into the film's central source of horror and comedy.
A television soap opera serial is the concrete trigger for the wives' trance-like transformation and the husbands' collective response.
Cable Srinivas, Venkatesh, Shahjahan, and other married men band together rather than confronting the crisis individually.
The Telugu-language setting and cable soap-opera premise ground the horror-comedy in recognizable Indian popular culture.
