What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Concetta becomes obsessed with Eve, a character created in her mind, while the boundary between invention and lived experience dissolves.
Concetta’s fascination with her invented character reflects her deepest fears rather than remaining a detached literary exercise.
The film’s lgbt context and Concetta’s fixation on Eve connect desire to imagination, self-recognition, and uncertainty.
The central dramatic device turns Concetta’s mental spiral into an apparent relationship between the novelist and Eve.
