May contain story progression spoilers
Brett, a young publishing professional, dates the much older literary figure Archie Knox, making generational difference central to the relationship.
Brett's hopes for promotion and changing workplace relationships develop alongside her romantic decisions.
The film combines publishing-world style, witty romantic situations, family difficulties, and a deliberately imperfect relationship.
