What critics said
Critics generally found the film's conventional script and thin characterization unable to match its found-footage premise, though some praised its editing, score, and monster-movie tension.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The friends' handheld and point-of-view footage supplies the film's unstable perspective during the Bigfoot attacks.
The isolated Texas woods and cabin leave the partying group exposed to a pursuing creature.
Bigfoot is the central stalking threat, shifting sasquatch folklore into direct monster violence.
Handheld footage and conventional coverage are combined to disorient viewers during encounters with Sasquatch.
