What critics said
Critics broadly viewed the film as a pieced-together continuation resembling rejected television episodes, though the Anastasia-centered segment received notable praise.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The stories focus on Cinderella's early life as a princess rather than retelling her transformation and wedding.
The film consists of three linked stories involving Cinderella, Jaq, and Anastasia, with the Fairy Godmother helping connect them.
Jaq wishes to become human because he feels excluded, while the Fairy Godmother enables magical changes across the stories.
The third segment develops Anastasia beyond her nasty stepsister role and connects her change to discovering true love.
