What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The central 1977 Halloween talk-show transmission is presented as a supposedly lost recording rather than conventional cinematic coverage.
Jack Delroy's effort to save his struggling program and surpass Johnny Carson becomes inseparable from occult danger and personal sacrifice.
The film meticulously recreates 1970s studio production design, talk-show staging, television cameras, and period showbiz mannerisms.
A Halloween late-night variety broadcast turns mediums, skeptics, hypnosis, and guest interviews into vehicles for demonic disruption.
