What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Bastien's fascination with Chloé is rendered through awkward intimacy, sexual awakening, and an undercurrent of ghostly dread.
The Québec lakeside family cabin is the central social and atmospheric space for the teenagers' summer bond.
The ghostly element at the lake intertwines supernatural suggestion with Bastien's experience of young love and uncertainty.
Bastien is nearly fourteen while Chloé is sixteen, making their relationship feel dramatically unequal from his perspective.
