What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film foregrounds Troma Entertainment's signature combination of mutation, shock humor, political incorrectness, and handmade exploitation excess.
The school hierarchy, glee club, contamination mystery, and mutation premise are presented through aggressive satirical humor rather than conventional horror seriousness.
The young couple's struggle against the Cretins is framed within an LGBTQ-related, rebellious high-school setting.
Students undergo mutations after contamination, making body alteration central to both the danger and the film's shock-comedy effects.
