What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Floyd and Louis drive from Los Angeles to New York for the Apollo memorial, using the journey to repair their friendship.
The Real Deal reunites despite their feud, contrasting Floyd's ambition with Louis's reluctance and philosophical reserve.
The Apollo Theater tribute gives the pair a concrete artistic goal while they recover their vocal partnership and address the past.
Floyd's bad hip, Louis's bad kidneys, retirement, and lost vocal chops complicate their attempt to return to the stage.
