Critics generally found the sequel packed with clever gags, catchy songs, and celebrity cameos, even if it fell short of the previous film's peak.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Constantine replaces Kermit and exploits the Muppets' tour as cover for an international theft.
Kermit's escape efforts are intercut with Constantine's masquerade and the Muppets' overseas performances.
The world tour, songs, cameos, and escalating theft scheme extend the Muppet stage tradition into a broad international comedy.
Interpol-linked investigation and the prison setting are filtered through Sam the Eagle, Jean Pierre Napoleon, and Nadya's absurd comic roles.
