What critics said
Critics broadly found the film entertaining and performance-driven, though its formulaic humor, stereotypes, and uneven writing divided opinion.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Ruhaan's fraudulent exorcist persona, mischievous priests, exaggerated performances, and supernatural confrontations create a deliberately broad comic register.
The plot pits Mallika's Manjulika identity against Mandira's Anjulika identity while using reversals to reshape the haunted-castle mystery.
Ruhaan poses as an exorcist for profit, and the lucrative castle case unfolds through suspicious priests, false leads, and unexpected twists.
Critical reception specifically identifies stereotypical depictions of Bengalis and Bengali culture as part of the film's humor.
