What sets it apart

The estranged marriage, public quarrels, spanking gag, and broad community comedy shape the film's western world.
McLintock uses his wealth and authority to protect settlers and Comanche people from crooked officials and forced relocation.
The cattle baron is respected by farmers and Indigenous neighbors, and the narrative frames his personal authority as a stabilizing social force.
