What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Evelyn repeatedly requests Erroll Garner's "Misty" on Dave's radio show, transforming the song into an emblem of her obsession.
Dave's casual encounter with Evelyn expands into interference with his work, attacks on his household, and threats against Tobie.
Carmel and the Monterey Peninsula provide picturesque social and domestic spaces that contrast with Evelyn's increasingly threatening behavior.
The film builds audience tension through stalking, intrusion, threatened relationships, and carefully escalated confrontations.
