What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Jack Foley and Karen Sisco develop mutual attraction even as he is a bank robber and she is the marshal pursuing him.
Foley is presented as a debonair, charismatic career robber, while the Detroit crime world is rendered with controlled style and dry humor.
The film uses complex flashbacks, freeze frames, and other temporal flourishes while following the robbery and pursuit.
The film contrasts cool blue Detroit imagery with oversaturated Florida scenes, as noted in reception commentary.
