What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The FBI response is portrayed as tragically comic while the family confronts the abductor themselves.
Will, Kate, and Reed decide to take justice into their own hands after Riley escapes and the investigation fails.
The plot explicitly presents suburban America as haywire and places the kidnapping within Otis’s subterranean world.
Riley turns the tables on Otis, escapes, and helps redirect the story toward family retaliation.
