What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Henry’s terminal cancer and concealed prognosis determine the risks and urgency of his relationship with Phoenix.
Henry does not tell Phoenix about his illness, while books on death and terminal illness threaten to expose it.
The college psychology class and Henry and Phoenix’s gradual courtship temper the terminal-illness premise with conversational comedy.
Henry lives in a Manhattan flat, meets Phoenix through a nearby college, and remains connected to family life in Westchester.
