What critics said
Critics generally found this brief direct-to-video sequel less funny, less charming, and less satisfying as a standalone story than the original, despite the enduring appeal of its characters.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Lilo and Stitch's effort to save their ohana makes family loyalty the story's central emotional motivation.
The hidden experiments and newly introduced characters establish the premise for the subsequent television series, while the ending remains open.
Experiment 625 possesses Stitch's abilities but is notably lazy and known for making sandwiches, while Experiment 221 adds another playful alien variation.
Lilo, Stitch, Jumba, Pleakley, Nani, and the experiments share a household-centered ohana dynamic in Hawaii.
