What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Grisha’s earlier transformation from spoiled heir to serf shapes his sensitivity to Katya’s abuse of power.
The plot again uses a trip to the past to reform an entitled character, now focusing on Katya.
Katya’s impudent lawlessness and Grisha’s response turn contemporary privilege into the film’s comic target.
Critical reception specifically notes the high-quality editing and prettier picture alongside the film’s large scale.
