May contain story progression spoilers
Gauri is deceived about her prospective husband, rejects Raja Saab at the altar, and is confined when she refuses him.
Shankar is mute and works under Raja Saab's domination, expressing devotion and resistance through action rather than speech.
The plot moves from deceptive courtship and confinement to violent pursuit and resistance against Raja Saab's criminal power.
