What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Samuel, Jeffrey, and Michael transform their grandfather's ninjutsu training into the film's central heroic force.
Mori Tanaka trains the three brothers and frames martial arts as a matter of mind, spirit, defense, and resourcefulness.
The brothers battle an organized crime ring and persistent kidnappers through lighthearted ninja set pieces aimed at younger viewers.
The film's young heroes, PG tone, and fun 1990s action-comedy sensibility have supported its later nostalgic and cult appeal.
