Away We Go
Following an unexpected parental relocation, Verona and Burt, anticipating their first child, embark on a cross-country road trip seeking a sense of belonging and a model for parenthood amongst a colorful network of acquaintances. This isn’t a quest for the perfect home, but a series of intimate, often awkward, visits that force them to confront their own formative experiences and differing philosophies on family and raising a child. The film distinguishes itself through its gently observational humor and refusal to idealize alternative lifestyles, instead portraying a raw, honest struggle to define their own values amidst the well-meaning but imperfect lives of others—resulting in a uniquely hopeful and refreshingly unpolished exploration of modern family dynamics.
