The Raven
A darkly comedic fantasy unfolds in a gothic 16th-century castle as a cynical, exiled sorcerer reluctantly agrees to assist a boastful magician transformed into a raven. Their uneasy alliance—fueled by rivalry and a shared longing for lost love—becomes entangled with the haunting presence of the sorcerer’s deceased wife, stirring up spectral mischief and escalating magical duels. Beyond the parody of classic sorcerer tropes, the film explores themes of regret and the desperate, often absurd, lengths to which individuals will go to escape the permanence of loss, resulting in a whimsical yet melancholic atmosphere where ghostly romance clashes with self-serving ambition.
