Spectral
A team of U.S. special forces enters a war-torn Bucharest besieged not by conventional enemies, but by semi-corporeal apparitions – “Spectrals” – only visible through specialized augmented reality interfaces. This isn’t a story of conquering otherworldly threats, but an escalating crisis of perception as the team struggles to understand and counter enemies that defy tactical logic. The film distinguishes itself with a gritty, documentary-style realism within its science fiction framework, presenting combat through the subjective, glitching lens of the soldiers’ high-tech visors. It’s a claustrophobic, tense descent into ontological uncertainty; a military thriller that questions the nature of reality itself as the team faces not only annihilation but the terrifying possibility that their technology is fundamentally misinterpreting the threat, or worse, *creating* it.
