Antiviral
In a chillingly sterile near-future, *Antiviral* presents a darkly satirical descent into a society obsessed with celebrity illness, where fans willingly purchase injections containing the very viruses that plague their idols. The film relentlessly pursues the grotesque intimacy of this parasitic connection, following a clinic employee’s increasingly harrowing physical and psychological unraveling after contracting the virus of a recently deceased pop star. Beyond a simple horror premise, the narrative evokes a pervasive sense of bodily violation and questions the commodification of suffering, rendered through a visually unsettling tech noir aesthetic. It’s a uniquely disturbing exploration of fandom, mortality, and the disturbing lengths people will go to experience a fleeting connection with the unattainable, resulting in a visceral and unsettling experience that lingers long after the credits roll.
