In 1980s Spain, a seemingly ordinary thunderstorm unlocks a fractured connection across time for Vera, a mother grappling with the quiet anxieties of suburban life. Her instinctive act of saving a young boy initiates a cascading series of alterations to the present, not through grand historical shifts, but through subtly eroding the foundations of her own reality and family. The film unfolds as a tense, psychological thriller less focused on altering fate and more on the unsettling experience of a present constantly rewriting itself, blurring the lines between cause and effect, and questioning the solidity of memory. Vera’s desperate attempts to understand and control the changes trigger a haunting exploration of maternal instinct, the fragility of relationships, and the devastating weight of unintended consequences as she navigates a world where the past isn’t fixed, but fluid and deeply intertwined with her own emotional state.
