House
A Vietnam War veteran and novelist grappling with profound guilt over his son’s disappearance seeks solace – and a writing retreat – in his deceased aunt’s eccentric mansion, only to find the house itself haunted not by ghosts, but by fragmented echoes of past residents reliving their final moments. This isn't a story of jump scares, but a psychologically unsettling exploration of trauma and unresolved grief, manifested as a playfully macabre, dreamlike reality where the past bleeds into the present. Interactions with a cheerfully oblivious neighbor and fleeting memories of his ex-wife highlight the protagonist’s isolation as he confronts his inner demons within the house’s constantly shifting, theatrical spaces. The film uniquely blends the horror genre with absurdist comedy, offering a darkly humorous and surprisingly poignant reflection on the enduring weight of loss and the subconscious mind’s attempt to process unbearable pain.
