Mama
Following a devastating family tragedy and years lost in the wilderness, two young sisters are reintroduced to civilization, yet carry with them the unsettling presence of a spectral figure they’ve come to call “Mama.” The film isn’t a simple haunted house story; it’s a deeply unsettling exploration of fractured maternal bonds and the primal need for belonging, filtered through the eyes of children struggling to adapt. A young art therapist, burdened by her own past losses, cautiously attempts to connect with the girls, only to find herself increasingly confronting the possessive and melancholic spirit who views herself as their protector. What distinguishes *Mama* from typical horror is its focus on the haunting *need* for motherhood, manifesting as a desperate, almost tragic longing rather than pure malice, creating a uniquely disturbing and emotionally resonant atmosphere.
