Ember is a search engine and recommendation service for films. Instead of picking a genre and scrolling, you write what you are in the mood for — a plot you half remember, a feeling, an occasion — and Ember answers with films that actually match.
How Ember knows the films
Every film in Ember's catalog is read by its analysis pipeline, which records what the film is about, how it feels, how fast it moves, how demanding it is and how much violence it contains. More than 20,000 films have been analyzed this way, and that analysis is what search and the collections are built on.
How Ember learns your taste
When you like, save or rate a film, Ember adjusts what it shows you. Your taste travels with your account across the website and the Stremio addon, and you can browse without an account if you prefer.
Where the data comes from
Film data, posters and artwork come from TMDB, ratings from OMDb, and streaming availability from JustWatch. Ember's own analysis, its collections and its search ranking are built on top of those sources.
