What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Mima’s acting work and increasingly disturbed perceptions overlap until scenes cannot be securely separated from lived reality.
Mima’s transition from idol singer to actress is shadowed by the persistence of her former image and its imagined or external demands.
Stalking, fan fixation, nude magazine work, and the entertainment industry’s surveillance of Mima turn celebrity visibility into a source of danger.
The film’s animated transitions and unstable visual logic reinforce Mima’s paranoia and the uncertainty surrounding her reflections of the past.
