What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Elisa discovers that her youth is highly desired while the North processes people according to its obsession with perfection and productivity.
Elisa’s mother works double shifts and pursues access to the North because she believes it will reunite the family.
The North is marketed as a promised land where history can be rewritten, even as its adaptation process demands conformity.
Elisa lives in a housing complex described as suspended in time, marked by routine fumigations, vanished pets, and an aging population.
