What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The story opens in the tragic aftermath of the credit union robbery before moving backward through the events that produced it.
The rural Irish setting surrounds the thieves with limited options and amplifies Mairéad’s psychological entrapment.
Mairéad is described as wilful yet trapped in her own past while approaching a breakdown.
Three unlikely thieves attempt a poorly executed robbery despite their lack of apparent cohesion or expertise.
