What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The search for Anatols Imermanis’s whereabouts after his death provides the film’s concrete investigative engine.
The film connects Imermanis’s poetry and books with the possibility of immortality beyond his missing ashes.
Imermanis’s wish to have his ashes scattered through Paris’s red light district frames remembrance as an eccentric artistic gesture.
Aleksandrs Zapoļs, also known as Semyon Khanin, serves as the private detective of Imermanis’s life and poetry.
