Bad Buddy

At university, two young men raised to hate each other find music and love instead, forcing them to question family legacies and choose their own path.

Bad Buddy (2021-2022) is a Thai boys love romantic comedy-drama miniseries created by Pitchaya Sukphat for GMM 25, a single season of twelve hour-long episodes produced by GMMTV. Korapat Kirdpan plays Pran and Pawat Chittsawangdee plays Pat, two young men raised to hate each other who are pushed together during their time at university. Their rivalry becomes tangled with family legacies and the pressure to follow paths chosen for them, while music and a growing attraction pull them in a different direction. Pattranite Limpatiyakorn as Pa, Pansa Vosbein as Ing and Natarit Worakornlertsith as Louis fill out a lively circle of classmates whose friendships and small rivalries give the story its warmth. The engine of each episode is the tug between old grudges and new feelings, with flashbacks used to reveal why the families are at odds. The tone is breezy and playful, with sincere, wistful moments that land emotionally. Set in a contemporary Thai university campus, it is a compact romance that will appeal to viewers who enjoy rivals-to-lovers stories.
