Coppola, the Agent

The life and stories of Guillermo Coppola, famous "bon vivant" and Diego Armando Maradona's agent.

Coppola, the Agent (2024-present) is an Argentine biographical dramedy created by Ariel Winograd, released on Disney+ and Star+. Juan Minujín stars as Guillermo Coppola, the famous bon vivant who served as Diego Armando Maradona's agent, and the series follows his glittering, often reckless life among football deals, nightlife and the people who orbit fame. Alongside him, Mónica Antonópulos plays Amalia 'Yuyito' González, and Joaquín Ferreira plays Poli Armentano, with Adabel Guerrero, Alan Sabbagh and Agustín Sullivan in supporting roles. The engine is Coppola's appetite for deals and pleasure set against the friendships and loyalties that slowly crumble around him. Each episode moves through a mix of negotiations, parties and private confessions, building a continuing story across two seasons and twelve episodes of roughly 39 minutes each. The tone is wistful and wry, with moments of melancholy beneath the glamour and a sense of a life lived large and paid for in loneliness. Set in contemporary Argentina, it lands with the energy of a Latin American biographical drama and the bittersweet melancholy of Entourage and Winning Time, making it a fit for viewers who enjoy sports-world stories with a human, personal core.
